Azerbaijan, Egypt expand tourism ties

Today, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency (STA) Fuad Nagiyev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt Adel Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahimi, Report informs, citing STA.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation between the two countries, the states' existing tourism potential, the work, and the measures taken in this field during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Touching upon the importance of expanding transport links and increasing tourism opportunities between the two countries, the ambassador proposed to reopen direct flights to the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Noting that Azerbaijan is also interested in expanding cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt, Fuad Nagiyev said that the resumption of mutual traveler visits between Egypt and Azerbaijan in the post-pandemic period would significantly contribute to the development of tourism.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the relevant strategies, as well as the existing experience of both countries in this area.
