Azerbaijan, Brazil discuss tourism cooperation

Mutual promotion and publicity events, as well as the organization of familiarization trips, were discussed with the participation of representatives of media and tourism companies for tourism cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil.

Report informs citing Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency that the discussions were held during the meeting between the chairman of the Agency Fuad Naghiyev and the tourism minister of Brazil Celso Sabino de Oliveira within the framework of the 25th session of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The delegation led by Nagiyev participated in the “Global Investment Forum” and “Global Education Forum” held within the framework of the Assembly. At the forums, with the participation of representatives of leading companies and organizations of the world tourism industry, current trends in tourism, as well as investment opportunities for countries, as well as prospects for cooperation on innovations in the field of tourism education were discussed.

The Azerbaijani delegation participated as an observer in the 119th session of the Executive Council held on October 17. The delegation is also expected to participate in the 120th session of the Executive Council of the UNWTO, which will be held tomorrow in Samarkand.

Taking into account the election of Azerbaijan as a member of the Organization's Executive Council at the 68th meeting of the European Commission of the OSCE held in Sofia, Bulgaria, the decision to grant membership powers to Azerbaijan within the framework of the 25th General Assembly will come into effect.
