Azerbaijan and Bulgaria intend to invesify cooperation in tourism

Bulgaria and Azerbaijan have traditionally good relations, and the intensified political and economic dialogue in recent years testifies to the desire of both countries to take a step further towards deepening the cooperation in various spheres and tourism is undoubtedly one of them, the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism told Report.

"The direction in which the future development of tourism relations should continue has to be related to the sharing of best practices, new ways of promotion, and enhancing the cooperation between the tourism authorities, academia and businesses of the two countries," the statement says.
Recalling the exhibition held in Baku in 2019, the ministry notes that the visitors to the Bulgarian stand at the AITF in 2019 showed great interest in the opportunities for spa and health tourism as well as cities tours in Bulgaria.

"Recently, H.E. Hristo Prodanov, Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria had a meeting with H.E. Dr. Huseyn Huseynov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Bulgaria, during which they discussed the possibilities to organize a bilateral business forum in the near future when the epidemic situation allows it. One of our main goals is to encourage the contacts between the tourism business of the two countries, which in turn will encourage also the tourist exchange. We believe that both Bulgaria and Azerbaijan have much to offer in terms of diversified high-quality tourism products," the ministry said.
