As the number of international events held in Azerbaijan is growing, the occupancy rate of local hotels has increased, said the executive director of Azerbaijan Hotel Association Gunay Saglam, Report informs.
"Hotels were 40-50% full in Baku and 70% in the districts in 2022. In particular, tourists from Russia, Turkiye, Iran, Georgia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) prevail," she noted.
According to Saglam, one of the problems currently faced by the hotel industry is related to the lack of personnel:
"Currently, some national personnel is working in Qatar, probably in exchange for a higher service charge. But we continue to increase the personnel potential. For this purpose, we cooperate with the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and carry out propaganda work in universities."
