National Equestrian Festival opens in Azerbaijan

The opening ceremony of the National Equestrian Festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev has taken place in Azerbaijan, Report informs.

The event at the Bina Equestrian Center was organized by the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov said that Azerbaijani sports are developing every day.

“I express my gratitude to the leadership of the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Azerbaijan for their work on the development of equestrian sports in the country. I welcome all guests who arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the competitions,” Gayibov noted.

Then the guests were greeted by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sarvan Jafarov.

At the event, the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem was performed.

Today, as part of the festival, the World Chovgan Championships will also start. In addition to Azerbaijan, the teams of Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Poland and Morocco will take part in the competition.
