UNDP pays attention to development of vocational education in Azerbaijan

UNDP pays great attention to the development of vocational education in Azerbaijan, Charu Bist, deputy resident representative of UNDP Azerbaijan, told Report.

“We can provide access to more young men and women to be able to access through vocational education. It’s the opportunity to get jobs, some income so that’s why we focus a lot on that,” she said.

She also added that UNDP is developing a partnership with the European Union, and their joint projects cover many regions of the country.

She also spoke about cooperation with Azerbaijan in the fight against the pandemic. “We immediately did the socio-economic assessment report with Azerbaijan. It was amongst all sectors from health to education, to economy, to food. So, we did all of that. Then we did immediate support also to women beneficiaries by giving them various essential food items.”

“We focus a lot on access to legal and social counseling if there was any violence against women because globally there has been an increase in that and then we focus also on trying to assess micro, small and medium enterprises and that was in partnership with the Ministry of Economy,” she said.
