Azerbaijan’s new child guardianship model is changing lives: since its launch, 44 children have been welcomed into foster families across the country.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, cited by Report, the children include 16 boys and 28 girls. Age-wise, 23 are under 6 years old, 17 are between 7 and 13, and 4 are teenagers aged 14 to 18.
The capital, Baku, is now home to 23 of these children, while the remaining 21 have joined families in regions such as Agjabadi (1), Bilasuvar (1), Jalilabad (1), Ganja (1), Goychay (1), Goygol (3), Khachmaz (2), Lankaran (4), Shamakhi (1), Shaki (1), Shamkir (4), and Zagatala (1).
