Minister: Population growth imposes serious demands on expanding employment

Extensive discussions about employment and human resources are underway in Azerbaijan, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev said at the Human Resources Summit held under the motto "Back to the Future", Report informs.

The minister reminded that Azerbaijan has taken a great path of development over the past period: "The economy of our country is developing dynamically, it has a strong army, and we have become a state that has its say in the international arena. In the last 5 years, social projects involving 4 million people have been implemented."

Babayev emphasized that about 7 billion manats allocated from the state budget for social projects were directed to employment, social and labor issues:

"Changes were also made in administrative management. The challenges ahead have not decreased at all, on the contrary, they have increased. We need to identify joint ways to solve new challenges. Population growth puts serious demands on expanding employment. Work is being done by the private and public sectors to employ young people."
