Deputy Prime Minister: Minimum salary will also be increased in the private sector

"Decrees signed by the President Ilham Aliyev on increasing salaries will substantially improve the living standards of low-income families," Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov said.

He also said that, along with those working in the public sector, it is also expected to increase salaries of those working in the private sector: "In line with the decrees signed by the President Ilham Aliyev, minimum salary, pensions and wages of people working in the public sector have been increased recently. Moreover a decree on defining the minimum pensions will be signed soon. The minimum salary has been doubled in the first half of 2019. Decrees were also signed on increasing the wages of employees by about 40 percent, who work in different state agencies. Thus, it is envisaged to increase salaries of 100,000 people by these documents. "

The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that the reforms implemented in Azerbaijan ensured the increase of funds to the state budget. "As a result, very serious social packages have been adopted for Azerbaijani citizens. People will benefit from these packages soon. In the first months of this year, Azerbaijan's Gross Domestic Product has grown significantly and the country's financial capacities have increased. Azerbaijani citizens will benefit from this growth. There is no higher goal than the welfare of its citizens for the Azerbaijani government. "
