The historic Icherisheher, also known as the Old City of Baku, is set to host the "Heritage for Children" festival on June 1-2, 2024, according to Report.
This two-day cultural and creative extravaganza is dedicated to the International Children's Day, celebrated annually on June 1.
According to the Communication and Public Relations Sector of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve Department, the festival aims to introduce children to the rich historical and cultural heritage, art, and craftsmanship of Icherisheher through a series of engaging activities.
The event lineup includes a museum exhibition, a tour exploring historical monuments, a visit to Tahir Salahov's "Flowers" exhibition, a showcase of young artists' works, an introduction to puppets at the Baku Puppet Theater, masterclasses on craftsmanship, fun games, a theatrical performance, a film screening, a musical program, and demonstrations of various sports.
For the first time, the Shirvanshahs' Palace Complex will host a special "History for Children" exhibition designed for young visitors. Additionally, a tour to this complex will be organized to emphasize the importance of restoring and preserving historical monuments.
