Baku TV's documentary wins top prize at Accolade Global Film Competition

The short documentary film "The Word" ("Söz"), produced by Baku TV, has won the grand prize at the prestigious Accolade Global Film Competition in Los Angeles, the United States. The festival, accredited by the world's largest film database - IMDB, is considered one of the top 25 film festivals worldwide.

Each year, the competition receives over a thousand entries from around the globe. Throughout its 21-year history, the festival has honored world-renowned actors, producers, and directors such as Ridley Scott, Michael Douglas, Cillian Murphy, and Eric Roberts.

The winning film, "The Word," tells the story of a Baku TV employee who participated in the 2020 Patriotic War. Narrated in the first person, the film's protagonist embodies the collective image of the Azerbaijani people before, during, and after the 44-day war.

Directed by Baku TV's Leyli Maharram, the documentary will be presented to a wide audience following its premiere in Azerbaijan.
