Eurovision Song Contest starts in Netherlands

The international Eurovision Song Contest has started in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Report informs.

The competition held on the banks of the Nive-Maas River gathered 34 participants from 39 countries.

"The delegations will arrive in a few minutes. Unfortunately, not all countries, but most of them will attend the event," said the presenter of the ceremony.

Along with Azerbaijan, Russia, Lithuania, Germany, Slovenia, France, Italy, Spain, Northern Macedonia, the Netherlands, Israel, Great Britain, Sweden, Belgium, Ireland, Cyprus, Norway, Croatia, Ukraine, Estonia, San Marino, the Czech Republic, Greece, Austria, Georgia, Moldova, Portugal, Serbia, Finland, Albania, Switzerland, Latvia, Bulgaria, and Denmark attended the opening ceremony.

The semifinals of Eurovision will be held on May 18 and 20, and the final is to take place on May 22.
