XXI meeting of Secretariat of Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions underway in Astana

On October 11, the XXI meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, chaired by Maulen Ashimbaev, the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan - the head of the secretariat of the Congress, kicked off at the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in Astana.

Azerbaijan is represented at the meeting by the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazada.

At the opening, Ashimbaev said that this meeting has become a good tradition and now the international community gives special support to the initiatives of the congress: "Our meetings are always based on principles and trust. We are glad to see you all in this room."

According to him, this dialogue is especially important in the context of modern global challenges.

More than 30 delegations from 24 countries came to Astana to participate in the meeting.

Within the framework of the secretariat meeting, it is planned to exchange views on the results of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, held in Astana in September last year, as well as discuss and adopt the “Development Concept of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions for 2023-2033”, initiated by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the VII Congress.

The leaders of religions such as Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, Taoism, Shintoism from various countries including the US, Vatican, the UK, South Korea, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Pakistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Israel, China, Mongolia, Japan, India, Russia, Thailand, UAE, are participating in the XXI meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress.
