Turkish Professor: As greenery declines, so do moral and ethical values

As the world's green spaces dwindle, so too do its moral and ethical values, Professor Mehmet Akkan Suver, Chairman of Türkiye's Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation, said on the second day of the Global Summit of Religious Leaders in Baku, Report informs.

"Alongside the social hardships caused by wars around the globe, climate issues are also harbingers of additional catastrophe," Prof. Suver warned. "At such a critical juncture, the upcoming COP29 conference in Baku is of utmost importance for discussing these problems."

He noted that Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29 is seen as a valuable opportunity for humanity's bright future. "I believe Azerbaijan's initiative will create conditions for moving away from chaos, confrontations, and wars. Baku's call to the world will play a major role in ensuring international peace. The meeting of religious leaders in Baku is a great contribution to this initiative," Suver added.
