Some politicians may hide Islamophobia behind cooperation with Muslim countries, Saeed Ahmad Khan, the Associate Professor of the Department of Middle East and Global Studies at Wayne State University (US), said at an international conference themed “Islamophobia as a specific form of racism and discrimination: New Global and transnational challenges” in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that there are different types of Islamophobia, as, for example, at the everyday and at the political level.
“Sometimes people can even say what kind of Islamophobes we are if we cooperate with Muslim countries?” he said, adding that Islamophobia manifests itself in different ways in various countries.
He also reminded about the attacks on mosques in the Canadian province of Quebec and New Zealand.
