Robert Mobili: Azerbaijan prioritizes protecting Udi monuments

The Azerbaijani government is demonstrating an exemplary commitment to preserving historical and religious monuments in the picturesque town of Nij, Qabala district, where the Udi people have lived for centuries, Robert Mobili, chairman of the Alban-Udi Christian Religious Community of Azerbaijan, said, Report informs.

Robert Mobili shared these insights during a meeting with Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations in Nij town.

Mobili briefed Mammadov on the religious community's educational initiatives and projects aimed at promoting Azerbaijan's traditions of tolerance and multiculturalism.

During the meeting, Mammadov emphasized that under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership, Azerbaijan has developed one of the most successful models of state-religion relations.

He highlighted that the restoration and reconstruction of historical and religious monuments, including mosques, churches, and synagogues, as well as the construction of new places of worship, are integral parts of Azerbaijan's policy in this field.

Mammadov noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation also actively participates in the implementation of this policy.

The meeting concluded with a discussion on the importance of interfaith cooperation in maintaining and promoting an environment of coexistence, mutual understanding, and tolerance in Azerbaijan.

They also explored ideas and proposals for future collaborative projects.
