Rabbi: Khankandi-Lachin road is open, humanitarian vehicles can move freely

“Azerbaijani Jews are against the looting of the wealth of our homeland,” the chairman of the Religious Community of Baku Georgian Jews, the director of the Baku Jewish School, rabbi Zamir Isayev told Report.

Zamir Isayev watched the demonstration of Azerbaijani eco-activists on the Khankandi-Lachin road on January 18.

“My purpose in coming here is to support our eco-activists. Azerbaijani Jews are always with Azerbaijan. Like every citizen of Azerbaijan, we - Jews - are against the looting of the wealth of our homeland. Humanitarian vehicles belonging to Russian peacekeepers pass freely and unimpededly on this road where we are standing now,” the rabbi said.

Isayev is sure that the ecoactivists will achieve their goals: “Because this is the land of Azerbaijan, these resources are the resources of Azerbaijan. No one can take it out of the country and exploit it without our permission. There is a very civil, peaceful protest here. Today alone, more than ten cars with ordinary Armenian citizens have crossed the road.”
