Rabbi Adler: Hamas, adhering to ideology of terrorists, crossed red line

Leaders of religious faiths from around the world must not remain silent in the face of the brutal and barbaric killings of men, women and children in Israel by terrorists, a representative of the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Joel Adler, told journalists in Astana, Report informs.

“I write to you with a broken heart and tears in my eyes, thinking about the thousands of funerals taking place these days in Israel, about men and women, children and babies - innocent victims of heinous terror attacks. Grieving families, crying bitterly, who have lost their loved ones. Their lives are destroyed. I think about the suffering of the hostages and the many thousands of wounded. It breaks my heart,” the rabbi said.

He noted that he came to Astana from Jerusalem, where he was when Israel came under rocket fire.

“Can we, as leaders of different faiths, remain silent in the face of such a desecration of God and in the face of the brutal, barbaric murders of men, women and children created in the image of God? Can we remain silent as we again see repeated images of the Holocaust? Innocent men, women and children are killed only because they are Jews. This is not about politics, but about humanity, about preserving basic human morality and tolerance. Silence would be a form of approval. Humanity cannot afford this,” he said.

Joel Adler noted that the world should not remain silent when such evil is committed.

“We will fight to protect our people. We believe in peace, the peaceful coexistence of peoples. But if you are faced with absolute evil in this world, there is no other choice but to fight. Thousands of people were buried in Israel these days. For what? What did these people do? And what did those who were kidnapped and are now in Gaza do? Hamas adheres to the ideology of terrorist groups that do not spare other people. Israel is the first victim. They crossed the red line, and there is only one way out - Hamas from now on should not continue to exist,” he stressed.
