Baku. 5 March. REPORT.AZ/ "There is no need for announcing a year of tolerance in Azerbaijan as every year here is a year of tolerance," President of the US-based Foundation for Ethnic Understanding Rabbi Marc Schneier said at an international conference “From the interfaith and inter-civilizational dialogue to cooperation”.
According to Report, he noted that tolerance reigns over 100 years in Azerbaijan: “Azerbaijan is an exemplary country not only in the Muslim world, but also on the world scale. This is because its foundation was laid by great politician Heydar Aliyev, for him tolerance became the priority issue. Other countries should follow the example of Azerbaijan in ensuring religious tolerance."
Schneier noted that they sought to create a bridge between evangelical Christians and world Muslims: "In fact, we have come here for a research. Our observations show that there is no agreement between Muslims and Evangelical Christians. However, participation of well-known evangelist leaders in this event in such a state as Azerbaijan is increasing the significance of the event. The gap between Azerbaijanis and Christians in the US can be eliminated on the basis of propaganda in Azerbaijan. I love Azerbaijan and will do my best for it to be known all around the world."
