Places of worship to open tomorrow

Religious places of worship will reopen tomorrow.

According to the May 26 decisions of the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers, starting from 00.00 on June 10, worship activities will be allowed (not more than 50% of the places of worship at the same time - 50 people in total).

The rules announced by the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) say that only those who have a COVID-19 passport (vaccination or immunity certificate) are allowed to participate in religious ceremonies at places of worship. Minors (not older than 14 years) are not allowed to be brought to places of worship. In order to prevent the spread of the infection, people who experience symptoms of COVID-19 should not be permitted in mosques or other places of worship.

Visitors must present a COVID-19 passport (vaccination or immunity certificate), wear a medical mask, use an antiseptic, and should not shake hands. When at the place of worship, the distance between them should be at least 1.5 meters on all four sides, and more if the area allows. Those who want to worship in the mosque must be clean, and if it is necessary to perform ablution, they must use their handkerchiefs and bring their own prostrations and seals.

Also, those who want to worship should come to the mosque only during prayers and to other places of worship when the relevant acts of worship are performed and leave the mosque (place of worship) immediately after the prayer (worship) is over. In this case, the requirements for group concentration in public places must be strictly observed.
