The month of Muharram has begun, according to the Hijri calendar.
Report informs that under the Gregorian calendar, the first day of the month of Muharram will be on July 30.
So, according to the Hijri calendar, the year 1443 ends and the year 1444 begins, the first day of the month of Muharram will be on July 30.
Ashura will be celebrated on the 10th day of the month of Muharram - August 8.
The month of Muharram will end on August 28, the month of Safar will begin on August 29 and end on September 26.
Blood donation campaigns will traditionally be held on the day of Ashura. Blood donation for medical needs in memory of the martyrs of Karbala, organized in recent years on the initiative of the Caucasus Muslims Office and highly appreciated by Azerbaijani people, is the most appropriate way to express grief.
In the month of Muharram, mourning ceremonies are held in connection with the death of the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.V.) Imam Hussein (S.A.V.) and members of his family. They were killed in the 61st year of the Hijri calendar.
In the first two months of the Hijri calendar (the months of Muharram and Safar), wedding ceremonies are not held in most regions of Azerbaijan.
