Deputy Mufti of Istanbul urges to observe quarantine restrictions in Ramadan

"We must become even more aware of the importance of observing the rules in the holy month of Ramadan," Deputy Mufti of Istanbul Bahri Shamat told Report's Turkish bureau.

According to him, the month of Ramadan is essentially an excellent opportunity to strengthen willpower: "But, unfortunately, this year, due to the pandemic, some restrictions have been imposed on the rituals and ceremonies associated with Ramadan. Turkey will not have iftar tables, no Taraweeh, and holiday prayers in mosques. As the number of cases of coronavirus infection is increasing, awareness of these restrictions and compliance with the rules of quarantine measures is a civic duty and the duty of every person. We should not forget that Ramadan is a great opportunity for us to understand this even deeper."
