Dates of next Umrah pilgrimage from Azerbaijan announced

Registration of a group of pilgrims from Azerbaijan for Umrah has begun, Bakhtiyar Najafov, a leading specialist in the Foreign Relations Department of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), told Report.

According to Najafov, another group of pilgrims from Azerbaijan will be sent to Umrah in January 2022.

“The collection of documents for the trip, which will last about a week (January 6-13), has begun. It is preferable to have about 25 people in one group. At the request of Saudi Arabia, visitors must receive three doses of coronavirus vaccines (two doses of Sinovac, one shot of Pfizer). Only those with a three-dose vaccine certificate can join the trip,” he said.

Najafov noted that about three such visits had been made so far.

“Flights are operated by AZAL every Thursday. As for the amount of money required for the Umrah pilgrimage, this figure varies around $1100 to $1500,” he added.

The Umrah pilgrimage ends with a three-day visit to Medina and a five-day visit to Mecca. In general, the visit takes nine days. The CMB sends Azerbaijani citizens and foreigners with residence permits in Azerbaijan.
