Global Summit of Religious Leaders gets underway in Baku

Baku is hosting the Global Summit of Religious Leaders ahead of COP29, Report informs.

The Global Summit of Religious Leaders is organized under the patronage of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The event, held under the slogan "World Religions for a Green Planet," is partnered by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Caucasus Muslims Board, International Council of Muslim Elders, and the UN Environment Programme.

The global summit, attended by leaders of world and traditional religions, representatives of various confessions, and globally recognized religious and public figures, brings together more than 220 guests representing 55 countries, 30 international organizations, and leading media outlets.

After the two-day event, guests are planned to visit the liberated territories.
