Azerbaijan marks Eid-al-Adha

Today marks Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) in Azerbaijan.

Report informs that Eid al-Adha is celebrated in the country on June 28-29.

It is the third year that the people of Azerbaijan have celebrated the Eid al-Adha in the atmosphere of victory, and this holiday has been celebrated in the liberated lands for three years.

President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the people of Azerbaijan and all Azerbaijanis living outside the country on the occasion of the holy Eid, which is a symbol of unity, equality and brotherhood of the Islamic world, and conveyed his most sincere wishes.

The Council of Caucasian Muslims Office has delivered its recommendations on Eid al-Adha.

A sheep is usually preferred for sacrifice. However, goats, cows and camels can also be chosen for sacrifice. Everyone is free to share that meat, although helping the poor is closer to the spirit of Islam.
