Attempts to detach people from their spiritual and moral roots remain one of the greatest threats to humanity's existence, Allahshukur Pashazada, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslim Board (CMB), said during a meeting of the Religions for Peace World Council.
According to Pashazada, the rapid development of digital technologies and the spread of artificial intelligence create new opportunities but also require adherence to ethical and moral standards, as well as preserving the primacy of human judgment in making religious decisions.
He stressed that Islam supports the advancement of science and education, and that religious leaders should also make use of artificial intelligence.
"However, although artificial intelligence possesses intelligence, it has no soul and therefore cannot replace a human being in worship," he said.
