Zourabichvili to file lawsuit with Constitutional Court to repeal law on foreign agents

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili will file a lawsuit on July 15 in the country's Constitutional Court to seek the repeal of the law on foreign agents, Report informs referring to the TV company "TV Pirveli".

“Salome Zourabichvili believes that the law adopted by the Georgian Dream is anti-national and incompatible with the constitution. It is known that if the Constitutional Court accepts the president’s claim, her interests will be defended by Eka Beselia (deputy - ed.),” the television company reports.

Beselia herself explained that the president would file a lawsuit demanding to establish whether the adopted law complies with Article 78 of the Constitution of Georgia. This article implies that constitutional bodies are obliged to take all measures to ensure the country's full integration into the EU and NATO.
