President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier had a telephone conversation, Head of Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said, Report informs referring to UNIAN.
Steinmeier’s office said “the parties have agreed to leave the past behind and focus on future cooperation.”
At the same time, Yermak confirmed that the conversation had taken place.
“The conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier really took place today. Germany remains a powerful ally of Ukraine. There will be an official announcement about the details, I can only say that Russia’s hope for a split in the unity of Europe in support of Ukraine is in vain,” Yermak said.
