Ankara's support for Moscow's proposals on security guarantees could make a real contribution to improving relations between Russia and NATO, Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told a briefing, Report informs.
"Supporting Russia's recent proposals on security guarantees could be a real contribution to improving relations between Russia and NATO," she said, commenting on the statement by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu that Ankara is ready to make a positive contribution to relations between Russia and NATO.
"We are determined to maintain contact with our Turkish partners in the interests of creating the necessary political and diplomatic atmosphere and promoting dialogue on security issues in the Euro-Atlantic space," the diplomat added.
Cavusoglu said earlier that Turkey would keep trying to make a positive contribution to resolving the relations between Russia and NATO. According to him, Ankara attaches great importance to the upcoming Russia-NATO summit.
