The OSCE Minsk Group and its associated institutions are to be abolished, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, Report informs.
"The Minsk Group has lost its purpose. It obviously should be abolished, such an overdue measure is designed to contribute to the long-awaited normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I have nothing more to add to this," she noted.
Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly stated that the Minsk Group and all its institutions should be liquidated. The abolition of this group is one of Azerbaijan's conditions for signing a peace treaty with Armenia. Yerevan has also stated that Armenia intends to appeal to the OSCE regarding the abolition of the Minsk Group.
