Many want to destroy bilateral relations between Russia and Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, answering a question from News.ru, Report informs.
“Many want to undermine them, and many have done a lot to harm them,” Zakharova noted.
However, she added that Russia did everything to ensure that these attempts were in vain, despite sometimes even very inadequate offensive statements addressed to it.
“Relations with Armenia in all areas have always been a priority for Russia for a number of reasons: historical, economic, including geopolitical ones. They have always been built on equality, on mutual consideration of interests, on an understanding of the complexity of the situation in the region,” Zakharova noted.
