Yerevan: Bus drivers protest loss in income

Bus drivers have staged a protest in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, Report says citing Novosti Armeniya.

According to the protestors, after the government declared a state of emergency over the coronavirus outbreak, the public transport stopped running, and they lost their sources of income. They want to find out if they will get social support.

They also complain that even after they are authorized to operate, there is no guarantee that there will be a sufficient number of passengers.

On April 13, Armenia decided to extend the state of emergency for another 30 days until May 14.

So far, Armenia has 1,067 confirmed cases, 16 deaths.
