World Bank to grant Armenia €22.6mln loan for new labs in schools and universities

The World Bank will grant Armenia a 22.6 million euro loan for the opening of laboratories in 200 schools in Armenia, Armenian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan said.

Report informs, citing Armenian media, that when presenting the draft loan agreement in the parliament, Martirosyan said the loan will be the continuation of the WB program implemented since 2015.

Under the government programme, all the Armenian schools must be equipped with laboratories under the new project by the year 2025.

The programme was launched in 2015, with 136 preschool institutions opened since, 13 schools renovated and 107 schools reequipped. Moreover, 5 Armenian higher schools received 18 grants for purchase of lab equipment.
