Will nuclear weapons be deployed on Ukrainian territory?

Following the deployment of NATO nuclear weapons in the territories of Sweden and Poland, the participation of Ukraine, where a large-scale war is raging on its territory, is being discussed, Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, told an interview with Report.

"There is no need to talk about nuclear weapons here. We don't need it. We need to talk about the possibility of obtaining a sufficient volume of conventional weapons to effectively repel aggression. Because we still have problems with the number of weapons. We wish we had more conventional weapons. It seems to me that Russia, in principle, has already violated the treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. We know very well that it is not only about technology, but also about raw materials. Russia transferred some of its tactical nuclear weapons and tactical nuclear warheads to Belarus. But it had no right to do so. Of course, Russia, in principle, resets another big layer of global security," he said.

“In addition, let's not forget that Russia uses the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant as one of the main elements of global blackmail. It is necessary to understand that the issue here is not about deploying or not deploying nuclear weapons, the issue is that Russia must answer for all these violated international agreements,” Podolyak said.
