Venezuela sends rescue team of 50 to Turkiye, Syria

Venezuela, on behalf of President Nicolas Maduro, has sent a search and rescue team of 50 people to Turkiye and Syria in connection with earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 centered in Turkiye’s Kahramanmaras, new Foreign Minister of Venezuela Yvan Gil Pinto said, Report informs referring to Turkish media.

He noted that it was decided to send a search and rescue team, as well as medicines and food to both countries.

“The government and people of Venezuela, led by President Nicolas Maduro, are very saddened by the devastating earthquake in both brotherly countries,” he said, noting that the country is calling on the international community to provide emergency assistance to Turkiye and Syria.
