Uzbekistan gears up for early voting in parliamentary elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan has announced that early voting for the upcoming parliamentary elections will take place from October 16 to 23, 2024, Report informs via Uzbek media.

This decision aims to facilitate the voting process for citizens who may not be able to cast their ballots on the main election day, scheduled for October 27.

According to the CEC, the decision to organize early voting was made during the commission's recent meeting.

The early voting will be conducted at designated polling stations across the country, with voting hours set from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (GMT +5) on weekdays and from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekends.

The election campaign officially kicked off on July 26, with candidates now engaged in pre-election campaigning since September 22.
