Uzbek Central Election Commission confirms Mirziyoyev’s victory in presidential elections

At its October 29 meeting, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan approved the victory of the incumbent President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the presidential elections held October 24, Report informs.

Mirziyoyev won with 80.12% of the vote, according to the CEC’s final protocol.

CEC Chairman Zayniddin Nizamkhojayev said at a press conference that a total of more than 16.212 million voters - 80.8% of their total number - cast their vote.

“Shavkat Mirziyoyev, nominated by the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, won a landslide victory in the presidential elections, garnering 80.12% of the votes, which is more than 12.2 million voters,” said the CEC head.
