The Presidents of Russia and Türkiye, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, agreed in yesterday's telephone conversation that, against the backdrop of escalation in the Middle East, the ministries of foreign affairs and defense will intensify contacts, the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Yuri Ushakov, told journalists, Report informs via TASS.
"The presidents agreed that contacts through several ministries will be intensified. I will say directly, in this situation, given the escalated situation in the Middle East, this primarily means two ministries - the Foreign Ministries and the Defense Ministries of the two countries. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Defense Minister Andrei Belousov from our side are oriented towards this," he said.
