US, Turkey discuss Azerbaijani-Armenian relations

Turkish President's Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan have stressed the importance of sustainable peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia in a phone call, Report informs, citing Turkish media.

The sides discussed the crisis in Ukraine, the normalization of relations with Armenia, and other regional matters. They also considered details and topics of the Joint Strategic Mechanism, agreed between Turkey and the United States.

The officials also mulled efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis through dialogue and cooperation. The Turkish diplomat said his country, as a NATO member, would further provide comprehensive support to overcome the crisis.

The diplomats noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Kyiv on February 3 will contribute to the diplomatic resolution of the problem. They stressed that the normalization of ties between Turkey and Armenia and sustainable peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia are essential for regional stability and welfare.
