US envoy summoned to Turkish Foreign Ministry

US Ambassador to Ankara David Satterfield has been summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry over the recent events in Iraq's Gara region, Report informs, referring to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

"The US Ambassador to Turkey was summoned to the Foreign Ministry as a protest against the thoughts reflected in the US State Department’s statement in connection with the murder committed by PKK,": the ministry said.

On February 14, PKK terrorists killed 13 Turkish citizens in the Gara region of Iraq. After the incident, the US State Department issued a statement in which it questioned the information of the relevant Turkish authorities: "If reports of the death of Turkish civilians at the hands of the PKK, a designated terrorist organization, are confirmed, we condemn this action in the strongest possible terms."
