UN Special Rapporteur expresses concern over police torture in Armenia

The UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparation, and guarantees of non-recurrence, Fabian Salvioli, is concerned about torture and the disproportionate use of force by the police in Armenia, Report informs.

“Many cases of disproportionate use of force and other abuses by law enforcement officers have not been effectively investigated,” the Special Rapporteur said at a press conference while commenting on the results of his 10-day visit to Armenia.
