Few of the nine operation directions that Russian forces were advancing are remaining. These are the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone, Luhansk Oblast, and Mariupol, Ukrainian presidential adviser Oleksiy Arestovych, Report informs.
"Our air forces continue to destroy enemy air defense systems. Several planes, helicopters and cruise missiles were shot down in one day. The sharp increase in the number of destroyed drones shows that the enemy is afraid to use military aircraft. The enemy has concentrated its air forces in the JFO zone," Arestovych said.
According to him, the fiercest fighting is taking place in towns of the Luhansk region.
“These are Rubizhne, Popasna, Severodonetsk. The Ukrainian Armed Forces maintain the defensive line and launch counter-attacks. In the JFO zone, the enemy is developing an attack from Izium to the south - in the direction of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. This is an attempt to besiege our troops," he added.
Referring to the situation in Mariupol, the official of the President's Office said that the occupying forces resumed the attack on the city: "But the Ukrainian troops can stand in a difficult situation. The government is providing them with all possible assistance."
