Ukrainian ministry: Provocations expected in Moldova's Transnistrian region

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has issued an operative report on the situation in the country.

The ministry said that large-scale armed aggression of Russian troops continues.

"The Russian military continues to form a group of offensive troops to move in the direction of Sloboda. They will likely try to attack again in the coming days. Besides, the opposite side continues to prepare and send personnel, weapons and equipment to participate in combat operations in Ukraine. Weapons and military equipment are being collected at the permanent deployment point of the 60th separate motorized infantry brigade of the 5th General Army of the Eastern Military District. Most likely, these weapons will be taken to the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. New conscripts are also being recruited from the 36th Special Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th General Army of the Eastern Military District (Borzya, Zabaykalsky Krai) to recover the losses of the battalion tactical group. The selected staff is scheduled to leave the permanent location in the second half of April this year. It is possible that Russia will provoke Moldova in the Transnistrian region to accuse Ukraine of aggression against the neighboring state. The opposite side will likely want to destroy Ukraine's transport infrastructure in order to prevent the supply of military operations."

According to the ministry, some parts of the Belarusian Armed Forces continue to strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in the Brest and Gomel regions:

"The 6th General Army and Coast Troops of the Northern Fleet continue to partially besiege the city of Kharkiv, and artillery fire continues in some areas of the city. In order to determine the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, aerial surveillance of the area in the direction of Izium is underway. For this, the Russian military uses the Orlan-10 anti-aircraft missile system. With the help of two battalion tactical groups, they tried to attack in the direction of Dovhenke and Dmitrivka settlements but failed. And the Russian military has retreated to its previous positions. The opposite side wants to take control of the settlements of Popasna, Rubizhne, Nizhne, and Novobakhmutivka in the direction of Donetsk, as well as provide full control over the city of Mariupol. In Mariupol, with the support of artillery and aircraft, the occupying forces continue to attack the territory of the Azovstal plant and the seaport. They fired artillery at the positions of our troops in Vysokopilya, Trudolyubivka, and Maryanske settlements."

The ministry also noted that 5 Russian tanks, eight armored vehicles, six cars, and eight artillery systems were destroyed over the past day.
