Ukrainian army breaks 1st line of defense of Russian troops in Kherson

The Ukrainian Army broke through the first line of defense of the Russian invaders in the Kherson Oblast. One of the regiments retreated from its positions, Report informs via Ukrainian media.

The 109th infantry regiment of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic, supported by Russia, moved away from its positions. The invaders continue shelling from tanks, aviation and artillery.

According to the Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine, electricity has been cut off in the city and province of Kherson. The Russian press has also published such information, claiming the reason for the blackout was an "accident at a substation".

Nataliya Gumenyuk, head of the joint press center of the Southern Security and Defense Forces, told Hromadske TV that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had started counteroffensive operations in many directions in the south of the country.

The Operational Group of the Kakhovka troops announced that the situation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson Oblast is highly complicated. HIMARS destroyed almost all major bridges over the Dnieper River.

"Only pedestrian crossings remain. The supply of weapons and personnel of the Russian army from the territory of Crimea has been cut off. This is a bright chance for Ukraine to return its territories," the Operational Group of the Kakhovka troops said.
