Ukraine's foreign minister embarks on visit to China

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has arrived in China for a three-day visit. This marks the first time a high-ranking Ukrainian official has visited the country since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022.

Minister Kuleba took to social media to announce his arrival, stating, "Ahead lie substantive negotiations with my Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, regarding paths to a just peace... It is crucial that Kyiv and Beijing maintain direct dialogue and exchange positions."

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister believes that China should reevaluate its relationship with Ukraine through the lens of its strategic ties with Europe, especially considering Ukraine's recent commencement of negotiations to join the European Union.

The visit wil last until July 25.
