Ukraine extends martial law, general mobilization

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted two laws extending the period of martial law and general mobilization for 90 more days, Report informs via UNIAN.

As many as 347 MPs voted for the adoption of the law "On Approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine On the Extension of Martial Law in Ukraine". Thus, the period of martial law has been extended from August 18 to November 16, 2023.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine was instructed to inform the UN Secretary General and officials of foreign states about the extension of martial law in Ukraine.

The Rada also adopted a law "On Approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine On the Extension of the General Mobilization Period". As many as 334 MPs voted for this decision. The extended the general mobilization for 90 days.
