Ukraine calls on Türkiye to support Sweden's accession to NATO

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced Kyiv's support for Sweden's entry into NATO, in particular, he noted that he raised this issue in negotiations with a member of the alliance, Türkiye, Report informs.

The Ukrainian leader was speaking at a press conference following talks with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

Zelenskyy said that Sweden made "an absolutely rational choice in favor of NATO", and the choice of Ukrainians is similar.

“I am sure that our states will together guarantee security in the Alliance, in particular in this Baltic-Black Sea-Azov region,” Zelenskyy added.

He noted that in negotiations with all partners in the Alliance, "we called and call for constant support for Sweden's entry into NATO, including in negotiations with Türkiye."
