Turkmenistan has signed a contract with Kyrgyzstan to supply over 500 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, Report informs.
The relevant agreement was signed by Turkmen Energy Minister Charymyrat Purchekov and Kyrgyz Minister of Energy and Industry Doskul Bekmurzaev.
An agreement was reached to supply 501.9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan from August to December 2021.
Under the agreement, until August 9, Turkmenistan exported 19.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to Kyrgyzstan through the territory of Uzbekistan. In parallel, negotiations are underway on the export of natural gas to this country.
Earlier, the presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Sadyr Japarov agreed on the supply of Turkmen electricity and gas.
