Türkiye urges to revoke citizenship of looters in quake zone

The leader of Türkiye’s Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahceli, has called for revoking the citizenship of people who loot in the earthquake zone or deport them if they are refugees, Report informs referring to Anadolu Agency.

“It is necessary to consider deprivation of citizenship of those who engage in looting and robbery, and if the looters are refugees, they should be immediately sent to their countries,” Bahceli said during a speech in the Turkish parliament.

According to Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag, at least 64 suspects have been prosecuted in 75 cases of looting in earthquake-hit regions. He also added that 57 people were arrested.
