Turkiye is planning to launch the production of advanced air defense systems, Report informs via TASS.
The decision to start production of new types of Siper, Hisar, Sungur systems and some types of missiles and ammunition was made during a meeting of the country's military-industrial complex executive committee chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Turkish authorities made decisions on 25 defense industry projects. Earlier, Turkiye tested the MIDLAS vertical missile launch system for the needs of its Navy. According to the President of Defense Industries Ismail Demir, it will be integrated into the Istanbul frigate in 2023 and will be used by the Turkish Navy.
Besides, the country expects positive news on the supply of American F-16 fighters to Ankara.
